VMware CodeCentral Blog : Administrators heaven ?
Maybe you were already familiar with it but the VMware Communities host a part that’s called VMware Code Central. It’s what supposed to grow to VI/VS administrators heaven I guess. It’s a collection of VI 3 and vSphere 4 sample codes (PowerCli/Perl SDK) for regular administrator tasks like Backing up VM’s, Making reports, Resource Pool Calculations and so on.
Nava Davuluri of VMware Product Marketing even launced a special blog for it that should update us in an easy to read format on what’s new on VMware CodeCentral.

VirtualCenter on Linux
I was interested about the beta vCenter based on Linux. After i did read the documentation, I downloaded the Virtual Appliance.
The VirtualCenter on Linux appliance uses Red Hat Community Enterprise Operating System (CentOS), version 5, as the base operating system. VirtualCenter on Linux is based on VMware VirtualCenter server, version 3.5. VirtualCenter has been modified to operate on a Linux operating system.

More free chapters of VMware VI3: Advanced Technical Design Guide
Scott Herold just released chapter 4 from both books from the Advanced Technical Design Guide. He plans to post 2 chapters every 2 :weeks and at the end post the books as pdf for free:
Once we have all free chapters released, we’ll bundle the whole thing up in one nice PDF package so people can actually travel with all the info they will ever need on VI3.
It’s really nice that this book will be available for free, but by the time it is, we probably are all into the public release of vSphere 4!

Veeam released their Reporter Enterprise 3.0
Veeam, known of their freeware FastSCP program to copy files to ESX servers, has released the third version of their Veeam Reporter Enterprise.
