New level cloud computing: icloud

As cloud computing is not quite new, still there is some nice stuff to share with you.

Last week I was informed about icloud, a product of Xcerion.
Xcerion delivers software and OS as a Service trough your web browser.

A quote from www.icloud.com:

“icloud consist of a desktop with applications and files that you run through your web browser.
Because it’s running in the cloud (the internet) it can offer you impressive features such as easy sharing, rich collaboration, built-in marketplace with free applications, seamless integration with your mobile device, and innovative drag-and-drop blog publishing.”

Cloud Hyping?

Wow there’s a new buzz word in the IT world. Virtualization isn’t hot anymore, everybody knows what it does and everybody knows how to use it with the single products. And most of us know how to combine several virtualization products and create a super flexibel and redundant environment. Great but virtualization isn’t flashy anymore. So let’s give it a new name and call a combination of products Cloud Computing.

VMware’s next step: cloud computing

It seems that VMware’s CEO Diane Greene presented a five stage vision about the evolution of the virtual datacenter. The five stages (separate, consolidate, aggregate, automate, liberate) shows that the last step will be about cloud computing. I’m wondering if this is only a vision or does VMware already have a solution soon to be announced (VMword 2008 maybe?)…
