The problem is VMware knows it's customers are already knee-deep in investment. And it's going to cost a company a lot more to go with a different platform, than to just spend another couple thousand to get what they want out of this product. What's most annoying is that the GUI doesn't reflect your licensing. When building a new VM, even though my license is standard, it let's me finish building the VM, then throws an error that I'm not licensed. I love VMware the product, but hate VMware the company. He claims it was worth the money he paid but I do wonder if vmware are receiving commission. Sometimes I wonder if manufacturers deliberately make their software unintelligble deliberately.
