Yesterday I went to the very last session of VMworld, it was an hands on lab with ESX 4.0 Beta. They were saying new, renamed or changed features with every new build they got. Read the rest of this entry »
Today I was at the “ThinApp - going deep on capturing applications” session. I expected a real technical session about how to tweak a captured application and maybe some best practices. It was a little bit of a soft presentation until one of the presenters showed something used in R&D at the moment: ThinApps that run in a second (virtual) desktop. Read the rest of this entry »

Last week I’ve been testing with the new version of XenApp (Formerly known as Presentation Server). At VMworld I have attended a session about another new feature called Fault Tolerant. This cool feature will be released somewhere in 2009, with the release of what is suppose to be ESX4.0. It’s an addition of the other high availibity services like VMotion, HA and DRS. As a matter of fact it uses a modified VMotion technique to clone a live machine in memory to another host and disconnect that secondary machine from the network so that it doesn’t accept any connection.
